Episode #69 - What's On The Other Side?

Okay. This weeks was/is, in many ways and for many people, full of circumstance that are devastating.

So, before we get to that we better take a moment to acknowledge this is episode number 69. Hee hee.

The Dreamers

This week, Katie gets vulnerable about how as we face another wave of Covid-19 and their plans to go to New York disappear before their eyes AGAIN and after two years of trying to keep a live performing career on life support, she hears the siren song of giving up on their dreams.

"What if I stopped wanting anything because that feels like it would be less painful?" - Katie-Ellen

How you have you been feeling lately? Have you been tempted to change course? Have you chosen a new path at any point during the past couple of years? What was that like for you?

"Shout Out to the Darkness"

When Katie says "shout out to the darkness" (around 14.5 minutes in) they don't mean the sweet depths of depression but actually the band, The Darkness, and their excellent song "Friday Night" which she closed out the piece Amitai mentioned, written for a 24-hour playwriting event, with. Enjoy!

Rabbi Gone Wild

Amitai shares a juicy tale of his father on the wrong side of Utah Police Department. Below is a reenactment of his crime.

So...What Do We Do? Hurt or Dream?

Amitai comes through with this wisdom for his distraught bubble bud/co-host:

"Over and over again I end up having to make that decision between whether I want to engage with something from that angle, the angle that wants to live alone in quiet ease for the rest of eternity or the one that wants to move through this insanely difficult world with the vulnerable skin sack that I am and you know get cut and bleed and get hurt and feel and do all that stuff, and I always end up picking the second choice eventually." - Amitai Marmorstein

Horny For

This week Amitia is horny for "Desire Paths":

A desire path (often referred to as a desire line in transportation planning, and also known as a game trail, social trail, fishermen trail, herd path, cow path, elephant path, goat track, pig trail, use trail, and bootleg trail) is a path created as a consequence of erosion caused by human or animal foot traffic. The path usually represents the shortest or most easily navigated route between an origin and destination. The width and severity of erosion are often indicators of the traffic level that a path receives. Desire paths emerge as shortcuts where constructed paths take a circuitous route, have gaps, or are non-existent.

Katie-Ellen is horny for the unofficial spirits of this show, The Muppets.

Extra specially this week, horny for Rainbow Connection:

This week was a real reminder of when this podcast started, in the depth of the initial wave of Covid-19, and both Katie and Amitai remain grateful for the opportunity to connect with anyone who listens. Thanks y'all.
