Episode #56 - Dawn of a Montera

There is everything before Friday September 17th, 2021 and there is what came after. This week your HOM hosts Amitai and Katie-Ellen reflect with reverence on this new dawn, the time when Lil Nas X's debut album Montero is in the world.

Have you listened to this glory?! Are you forever changed?! Is that second question rhetorical because the answer is so obvious?!

If you've not yet listened to Montero, no judgement. Honestly. Life is a lot. Or maybe you think it's not your thing. Or maybe you're not able. Whatever the case, whether you've not heard the album or have heard it on constant repeat, we share our rampant enthusiasm for it all with you, with love, this week.

That's What I Want

This is the video Katie references, and how groundbreaking and incredibly sexy it is.

Here is one of the Aerosmith video's Katie mentioned, that features Alicia Silverstone and Liv Tyler. Upon reflection it's actually not as sexually explicit as they made it seem - and also quite a bit gayer. Really tracks that this made an indelible imprint.

Party Like it's 1999...(and Make Brilliant Babies to Inspire a Generation)

Katie observes that two cultural figures that consistently bring joy, pride, hope and inspiration, the aforementioned Lil Nas X and Canada's powerhouse son Vladimir Guerrero Jr., were both born in 1999. Two angels, born at the turn of the Willenium, brought into the light twenty years later to show us a new way to be successful men. Bless them.

Watch the current beautiful Blue Jays boys dug out dance. It's a wonderful 8 seconds, trust.

We'd say more, but Lil Nas X would do it better. Thanks for sharing our joy and spending some time with us this week. Love y'all.
